Also known as rigid boxes or paper-over-board boxes, our luxury cardboard boxes are used for high-end retail packaging, corporate gifts, influencer unboxing campaigns, spirits and wine, and collector’s editions.
What Are Luxury Boxes?
Luxury boxes (rigid boxes) are constructed from two materials: a thick greyboard core (1000–3000 micron) that gives the box its solid, substantial feel, and a printed paper wrap glued to the outside. Unlike folding cartons, rigid boxes don’t flatten — they hold their shape permanently.
This construction gives them a weight and quality that’s immediately noticeable. When your customer opens a luxury box, it feels premium before they’ve even seen the product inside.
Styles Available:
- Hinged lid luxury boxes — lid attached via a hinge, opens like a book or laptop
- Lift-off lid luxury boxes — separate base and lid, clean presentation
- Sliding luxury boxes — inner tray slides out of outer sleeve
- Shoulder boxes — Lid and base with an inner board wall affixed into the base.
- Wrap lid boxes with magnetic closure — lid wraps around base, secured with magnets
- Centre opening rigid boxes — two panels open outward from the centre
Custom Cardboard Inserts and Fitments
Luxury boxes can be supplied with a custom cardboard insert (fitment) for securing products, or a foam fitment. Board fitments are the more cost-effective option and are better for the environment. Foam fitments are available where the brief requires them. Both can be designed to hold single or multiple items, at various heights.

Lead time: 3–4 weeks for standard rigid box orders.
Litho printing plates from £250. Setup costs stay the same whether you order 50 or 500 boxes.
